The 28th Schweinfurt Short Film Festival presents more than 60 short films in six program blocks over 3 days. The festival runs from Thursday, March 25, through Saturday, March 27, 2027, at the KuK Filmtheater, Ignaz-Schön-Str. 32 in Schweinfurt; screenings begin each day at 3 p.m. The program includes satire and comedy, as well as documentaries, animation, and serious, political, romantic, and suspenseful stories. The festival also includes a children’s program. German and international entries are joined by films from the region. The main programs also feature a competition for best regional film: films from Lower and Upper Franconia compete for the €300 grant prize donated by the District of Lower Franconia. The audience chooses the winner; the awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday evening.
