The traveling exhibition “WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Lower Franconia Between Trends and Tradition” by the Lower Franconian Cultural Foundation explores forms of textile expression from the past and present. On Sunday, July 5, 2026, the exhibition will open its doors at 2:00 p.m. at Marktplatz 20 in Gerolzhofen.
The exhibition explores what people in Lower Franconia wore and wear today, and what messages clothing conveys about identity, prosperity, and a sense of belonging. Historical exhibits and works by regional fashion designers showcase the region’s trends and history. In addition, the exhibition encourages visitors to reflect on their own consumption habits and the issue of sustainability. The venue ties directly into the permanent exhibition “The Sewing Machine’s Global Success” held there.
