On Thursday, December 3, 2026, the book „Jüdischer Weinhandel in Franken“ will be presented at 6:30 p.m. at the Stadtarchiv Schweinfurt, Martin-Luther-Platz 20. The publication explores the history of Jewish wine merchant families and their significance for the Franconian wine trade. It focuses on the centers of Kitzingen, Schweinfurt, and Würzburg, the merchants’ family networks, and persecution and emigration during the Nazi era. The book brings together findings from an academic conference and an exhibition at the Stadtarchiv.
At 5 p.m., Dr. Gregor Metzig, director of the Stadtarchiv, will lead a tour of the exhibition „Königliche Hoflieferanten. Schweinfurts jüdische Wein- und Spirituosenhändler“. The editors, Dr. Markus Frankl and Dr. Hermann Kolesch, will present the book. A reception will follow. Registration is recommended.
