DESCRIPTION:COLLECTION TOUR: 600 Years of History Under One Roof\n\nWith the collection of industrialist Dr. h.c. Otto Schäfer (1912–2000)\, the Otto Schäfer Museum in Schweinfurt houses prints dating from the time of Gutenberg through to more recent centuries. Early block-printed books illustrate the beginnings of the printing era\, which would go on to have a decisive influence on human cultural development.\n\nStarting with the Renaissance master Albrecht Dürer—whose graphic works are represented here in a uniquely comprehensive collection—the tour takes visitors through major historical events\, past numerous first editions from the 18th and 19th centuries\, and on into the modern era.
