DESCRIPTION:Special Presentation from the Artist’s Estate in the Permanent Exhibition at the Museum Georg Schäfer\n\nThe painter Carl Piepho (1869–1920) was a member of the Munich Secession and was celebrated during his lifetime for his evocative\, atmospheric paintings. Today\, his work has largely fallen into obscurity.\n\nThe special presentation\, running from June 27\, 2026\, through January 17\, 2027\, at the Museum Georg Schäfer brings Piepho back into the spotlight and showcases 23 previously unknown works from his extensive estate. On display are 21 paintings and two drawings\, complemented by works by Lovis Corinth\, Max Slevogt\, Leo Putz\, and Albert Weisgerber from the museum’s own collection.\n\nPiepho’s works are deeply rooted in Impressionism\, while also drawing on influences from the German Secession movements and French art.
