The “FarbenSpiel” exhibition at the Augustinum Schweinfurt, located at Ludwigstraße 16, features works of art created through a collaboration between the Cultural Office of Lebenshilfe Wohnstätten Mainfranken and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau. The exhibition opens on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.
At the heart of the project, led by Antje Arlt, are 15 discarded musical instruments such as guitars, saxophones, and drums. These were designed by residents of Lebenshilfe between the ages of 30 and 65. Under Philipp Rau’s guidance, the participants applied the “Abstract Pouring” technique—an acrylic pouring method—in a series of workshops. The resulting vivid, three-dimensional works fall under the category of outsider art—an art form that emerges independently of academic rules.
