Starting Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., the “FarbenSpiel” exhibition at Ludwigstraße 16 in Schweinfurt will showcase the results of an inclusive art project. These extraordinary works of art were created as part of a collaboration between the Cultural Office of Lebenshilfe Wohnstätten Mainfranken, led by Antje Arlt, and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau.
Residents of Lebenshilfe, aged between 30 and 65, transformed disused musical instruments during several workshops. Under professional guidance, 15 instruments and individual parts—including guitars, saxophones, and drums—were transformed using the acrylic pouring technique (Abstract Pouring). The resulting works fall under the category of so-called “outsider art,” an art form that operates outside academic conventions. The finished pieces demonstrate how the interplay of vibrant colors creates three-dimensional art objects that breathe new visual life into the instruments.
