The inclusive art exhibition “FarbenSpiel” at the Augustinum in Schweinfurt (Ludwigstraße 16) showcases the result of a collaboration between the cultural office of Lebenshilfe Wohnstätten Mainfranken and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau. On Friday, September 18, 2026, the exhibition will open its doors to visitors at 8:00 a.m.
At the heart of the exhibited works are 15 disused musical instruments—including guitars, saxophones, and drums—that were designed by residents of Lebenshilfe between the ages of 30 and 65. Under the guidance of Philipp Rau, the participants applied the technique of abstract pouring—an acrylic flow technique—in a series of workshops. Through the deliberate intermingling of colors, three-dimensional works of art emerged that can be classified as “outsider art.” This art form is characterized by its creation outside the bounds of academic rules.
