The inclusive art exhibition “FarbenSpiel” at the Augustinum in Schweinfurt (Ludwigstraße 16) presents the result of a creative collaboration between the Lebenshilfe residential facilities in Mainfranken and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau. On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the exhibition will open its doors to visitors at 8:00 a.m.
At the heart of the project are 15 discarded musical instruments, including guitars, saxophones, and drums, which were artistically transformed by residents of Lebenshilfe aged 30 to 65. Under professional guidance, the artists used the “Abstract Pouring” technique, a special acrylic pouring method. Through the deliberate pouring and intermingling of colors, they created three-dimensional works of art in the style of Outsider Art—an art form that emerges directly from the moment, free from academic rules. The exhibition showcases the diversity of these vibrantly colored objects and documents the collaborative, inclusive creative process.
