The inclusive art exhibition “FarbenSpiel” at the Augustinum in Schweinfurt (Ludwigstraße 16) showcases the result of a creative collaboration between the cultural office of Lebenshilfe Wohnstätten Mainfranken and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau. On Friday, September 25, 2026, the exhibition will open its doors to visitors at 8:00 a.m.
At the heart of the project are 15 disused musical instruments—including guitars, saxophones, and drums—that were artistically transformed by residents of Lebenshilfe aged between 30 and 65. Under the guidance of Philipp Rau, the participants used the modern acrylic pouring technique (Abstract Pouring). The resulting, color-intensive exhibits fall under the category of “outsider art,” an art form that operates outside of academic conventions. The works reflect the dynamism of the workshop phase, which lasted several months and involved both experienced participants and those new to art.
