The inclusive art exhibition “FarbenSpiel” at the Augustinum in Schweinfurt (Ludwigstraße 16) presents the result of a creative collaboration between the cultural office of Lebenshilfe Wohnstätten Mainfranken and Würzburg-based artist Philipp Rau. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the exhibition will open its doors to visitors at 8:00 a.m.
At the heart of the project are 15 disused musical instruments—including guitars, saxophones, and drums—that were transformed by residents of Lebenshilfe aged between 30 and 65. Under the guidance of Philipp Rau, the artists used the “Abstract Pouring” technique, a special acrylic pouring method. Through the deliberate pouring of paint, they created three-dimensional works of art that fall within the Outsider Art movement—an art form that emerges directly from the moment, free from academic conventions. The exhibition showcases the results of this workshop, which spanned several months and involved both experienced regular artists and newcomers.
