Free admission to the Georg Schäfer Museum on the first Tuesday of every month.
On the first Tuesday of every month, admission to the entire Georg Schäfer Museum is free.
Take this opportunity to explore the outstanding collection of German paintings from 1760 to 1930 at your leisure—featuring works by artists such as Adolph Menzel, Max Liebermann, and Lovis Corinth, as well as the world’s largest collection of works by Carl Spitzweg. You can also see famous paintings such as “Evening on the Baltic Sea” by Caspar David Friedrich or “The Bookworm” here in their original form.
The modern museum building, with its open sightlines, creates a special atmosphere. When special exhibitions are on view, these can also be visited free of charge.
Please note that no external group tours are available on this day.
