Join us on a historical city tour exploring the lives of six women from Schweinfurt and their fates in the 20th century.
The historic Old Cemetery lies quietly in the western part of downtown. A weathered gravestone still serves as a reminder of the young wife of the town clerk, Alberti. You’ll hear the incredible story of what happened to Susanne Alberti.
On your way to the Augustinum, you’ll learn interesting facts about everyday life as a woman at the beginning of the 20th century. Among others, you’ll meet Betty Sachs, the grandmother of Gunter Sachs. Hear why Elinor von Opel from Rüsselsheim lived in Schweinfurt. Discover fascinating life stories of women who stand up for other women and people, of women who realize their life’s dreams despite adversity and remain true to themselves.
