The Gochsheim Nachkirchweih, a historic peace festival commemorating the peace treaty following the Thirty Years' War and the restoration of imperial freedom in 1649, will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Gochsheimer Plan, located at Am Plan 4-6 in 97469 Schweinfurt. This time-honored event, featuring the Franconian “Plantanz” dance, has been listed in the Bavarian State Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2016.
The festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. Music will be played starting at 2:00 p.m., followed by the procession of the Plan couples and the subsequent Plan dance at 2:15 p.m. In conjunction with the event, the Reichsdorf Museum in the Kirchgaden will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and invites visitors to explore its historical exhibition.
