“Here I am a gentleman, at home a nobody” – under this title, Hans Driesel explores the life and work of Albrecht Dürer. The artist from Nürnberg was a painter, engraver, mathematician, and art theorist. The reading traces Dürer’s life and explores both his success and the tragic aspects of his biography. This also includes the “pension trip” to the Netherlands, which took Dürer down the Main and Rhine rivers and past Schweinfurt. The event, in the Literature category, takes place on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Bürgersaal of the Alte Schule Sennfeld, Hauptstraße 2, 97526 Sennfeld.
