Germany’s largest private museum of military and contemporary history invites you on a journey through more than 200 years of Franconian and German history. Experience history up close in approximately 17,000 m² of mostly covered exhibition space featuring over 20,000 exhibits. Armored vehicles, tracked vehicles, watercraft, aircraft, and heavy machinery bring bygone eras back to life and make history tangible. In addition to military developments, the museum also covers contemporary and civilian eras. Large dioramas and elaborately designed scenes provide a vivid impression of soldiers’ daily lives through the ages—an experience for all generations. In the adjoining restaurant, Zur Schmiede, you can round off your museum visit with good food and a cozy atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you. Last admission to the museum: 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays, except on public holidays!
