From June 27–29, 2026, the Röthlein Traditional Costume Association cordially invites you to the traditional Plankirchweih at the Trachtenplatz. Over the three days of the festival, visitors can expect a varied program featuring Franconian traditions, music, dance, culinary specialties, and a convivial atmosphere for the whole family.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, June 27, at 6 p.m. with the traditional raising of the festival tree by the Planburschen. The association welcomes plenty of helping hands from the local community. The festivities will kick off at the same time. Musical entertainment will be provided by Die Stammheimer starting at 7:30 p.m., while the popular PlanBar opens at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 28, begins at 10:30 a.m. with a church service at St. James Church. Afterward, the TSV sports restaurant “Beim Schimi” invites guests to lunch at the Trachtenplatz starting at 11:30 a.m. The Hirschfeld Music Association will provide musical accompaniment during lunch. A highlight of the day’s festivities follows at 2:30 p.m., when the Plan couples, together with the children’s dance group and the guests of honor, will make a ceremonial entrance onto the Trachtenplatz to officially open the Röthlein parish fair. Afterward, everyone is cordially invited to join in the traditional circle dances.
Starting at 5:00 p.m., freshly smoked trout will be served, while the Heidenfeld brass band provides lively musical entertainment.
On Monday, June 29, starting at 9:00 a.m., the “Planpaare” will visit the school, town hall, and local businesses to promote the festival and raise a toast together.
