A historical city tour on Monday, September 28, 2026, will shed light on the history of two distinctive buildings in Schweinfurt. The approximately 60-minute tour begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Rückert Monument on the market square.
The first stop is the historic town hall with its Renaissance façade and striking oak columns inside. Among other things, the tour will explore the legend of the two giant fish depicted in the frescoed plasterwork. The tour then continues to the Schrotturm, a 19th-century industrial monument. Visitors climb wooden stairs to the remnants of the former lead shot production facility, which also offers a view of the city and the Main River.
Participation costs 7.00 euros. Tickets are available in advance from the online shop or directly at the Schweinfurt Tourist Information Office just before the tour begins. Receivers and earbuds are provided for clear audio transmission; induction loops for hearing aids are available upon prior request.
