The talk “Staying Independent in Old Age: What Can I Do Today to Prepare?” with Heide Wunder from Diakonisches Werk explores ways to maintain independence in old age. Topics include social connections and opportunities to meet others, leisure activities, volunteering, health, and prevention. Household assistance and everyday support, planning ahead, living arrangements and the surrounding environment, and the use of digital media will also be discussed. There will also be time for personal questions and concerns.
The event will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Wasserturm am Bergl, Berliner Platz 9 in Schweinfurt. As space is limited, the organizing Bürgerverein asks attendees to register by October 28, 2026.
