On Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Yanick Thurn will speak at the Historisches Rathaus Schweinfurt, Rathaus – Markt 1, about learning processes in neural networks. The physicist and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Würzburg conducts research at the intersection of physics, mathematics, and artificial intelligence.
The talk explains what happens inside neural networks and the conditions under which they learn efficiently and deliver reliable results. Approaches from physics make information flows in the networks visible. The talk will also cover methods for assessing the performance of AI models even before training. It connects current research on machine learning with physics and data science.
