In a presentation on July 10 at 5:00 p.m., Till Mayer will discuss the current situation in Ukraine and showcase a selection of photographs. In addition, Bogdan Volchok, operations manager at SKF, will report on the difficult situation in Schweinfurt’s sister city, Lutsk.
Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to shape the political landscape in Europe, even in its fourth year. This presents schools with the important task of clearly conveying to young people the consequences of this war, the value of freedom and democracy, and the importance of European solidarity.
The work of photojournalist Till Mayer provides direct insight into these topics. For nearly ten years, he has been documenting the war in Ukraine as part of a long-term photographic project. His striking black-and-white photographs depict the devastation of war, yet also showcase the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
Under the title “Resistance: Ukraine’s Struggle for Freedom,” his images will be on display in July and August in the exhibition hall of the Old City Hall in Schweinfurt.
The lecture on July 10 will take place in the City Hall foyer.
