On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the literary event “Déjà-vu: The End of the World Again? — Crises Between Yesterday and Today” will take place at the Kulturvilla Museum Otto Schäfer in Schweinfurt. Starting at 1:00 p.m., the special exhibition at Judithstraße 16 will explore how humanity has responded to exceptional situations in the past and how these experiences can be applied to today’s crises. Across five chapters, original historical documents—ranging from rare witchcraft books and treatises on the plague to war-influenced writings and classical literature—are juxtaposed with contemporary perspectives. The project was developed in cooperation with students in the master’s program in Literature, Culture, and Media at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.
