On Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., a lecture on literature will take place in Gerolzhofen at Kirchgasse 5, 97447 Schweinfurt. Author Katharina Winterhalter will speak about the life and work of artist herman de vries. Now 95 years old, the Dutch-born artist—who has lived in Eschenau since 1970—is considered a pioneer of working in and with nature, with the Steigerwald forest at the center of his creative work. Winterhalter has been a close friend of the artist and his wife Susanne for nearly 25 years. Her lecture draws on this long-standing friendship and offers a personal insight into the couple’s life journey, their work, and their collaborative efforts.
