To kick off the fall program at the Otto Schäfer Museum, speaker Hans Driesel will explore the life and work of Heinrich Heine. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the literary lecture will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Kulturvilla in Schweinfurt.
The event will focus on Heine’s career during an era of social and literary upheaval. Through a combination of readings and spontaneous recitations, Hans Driesel will shed light on the various facets of the artist, who evolved from a prominent writer of love poetry into a sharp-witted satirist and political poet. Heine’s emigration to France, his work as a critical journalist in exile in Paris, and his encounters with leading figures in European cultural life will also be discussed.
The event takes place as part of the “WissensZeit” series at Judithstraße 16.
